Wisconsin Energy Efficiency Rebates 

There are excellent rebate programs for energy efficiency home improvements in Wisconsin. 

Inflation Reduction Act Home Energy Rebates 

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) created two new rebate programs for home energy efficiency improvements. Weatherization Services is an IRA Registered Contractor that can help you take advantage of IRA rebates in Wisconsin. 

Home Efficiency Rebate Program (HOMES)

Through the HOMES rebate program in Wisconsin, homeowners can receive rebates for energy-saving upgrades, including insulation, heating and cooling equipment, and more. You qualify for rebates based on how much energy an upgrade is expected to save and your household income. 

Depending on your household income and modeled savings, you can receive between $1,500 and $10,000 for energy-saving home improvements.

Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate Program (HEAR)

The HEAR rebate program helps low and moderate-income households make energy efficiency improvements, including ENERGY STAR heat pump installation, electrical panel upgrades, insulation and air sealing, and more. Qualifying homeowners can receive up to $14,000 in HEAR rebates. 

Focus on Energy Rebates 

Focus on Energy helps Wisconsin residents make home improvements that save energy, improve comfort, and reduce monthly energy costs. Weatherization Services is proud to be a participating contractor that can help you take advantage of these rebates for:

• Energy efficient furnace installation
• Energy efficient air conditioning 
• Energy efficient water heaters 

All measures and equipment must meet energy efficiency requirements to be eligible for rebates. We will ensure the equipment we install in your home meets program requirements. 

Energy Efficient Home Improvement Tax Credit 

Many energy-saving improvements are eligible for tax credits! The Energy Efficient Home Improvement Tax Credit (25C) saves you 30% on upgrades like insulation and air sealing, replacement windows, heat pumps, high-efficiency furnaces and air conditioners, and more. 

You can claim the 25C tax credit every year you make qualifying upgrades to your home, but there are limits. 

• You can claim up to $1,200 a year for energy efficient property costs (includes furnaces and ACs) and certain energy efficient home improvements (includes insulation, air sealing, and window/doors). 
• You can claim up to $2,000 a year for heat pumps

Me2 Home Efficiency Financing

The Me2 financing program offers low-interest loans to homeowners in the City of Milwaukee for rates as low as 4.5% and terms up to 15 years. In many cases, the savings from home efficiency upgrades are greater than the loan payments. Single-family homes and owner-occupied rental properties with up to three units are eligible.
