What Is the Lead Hazard Reduction Program?
The Lead Hazard Reduction Program was created by the City of Milwaukee Health Department to help local homeowners and renters pay for lead abatement services. Through the program, eligible property owners can receive up to $40,000 in grant funding to replace original windows that have lead-based paint.

Why Take Action Now?
Lead paint exposure is a serious health risk, especially among children. It’s the number one environmental health problem facing American children today, especially in cities like Milwaukee, where most houses were built before lead paint was banned.
Lead poisoning, even at low levels, can cause permanent brain damage, behavioral issues, and learning disabilities. But many families don’t find out they have lead dust in their homes until their child has elevated lead levels in their blood.
Don’t wait until your family is affected! Take advantage of the funding that is available now to make your home lead-safe for little to no cost.
